What does the blue on a silkie indicate? if anything?

Does the blue shine on the waddles indicate sex at all on silkies? i have 2 white silkies that are about 6 weeks old that are developing a "blue shine" on what looks like possible wattles. and i noticed in the online poultry show for silkies that there were some with the blue on them but i think all were female. or am i just being stupid?
i'm trying to figure out sex but i cant on the silkies.

Hey Wendy, All Silkies should have bluish ear lobes, males and females alike.
