What does this mean when I candle my eggs?

I candle one of my eggs and it looks different to the others. Is this one dead?

It almost certainly is dead. That looks like a blood ring. However, I'd keep it and keep an eye on it for a few more days.

I generally candle at a week so that I don't disturb the growing veins.
