What Does This White Layer Mean?

My girls just started laying eggs recently, when cracking one open this morning we noticed it had some white layer beneath the shell.

What does this mean?

Looks like a regular shell membrane to me.

Good news, it's normal! Sometimes it sticks more to the shell, other times it separates and is more obvious, possibly depends on the egg's freshness.
