What does "twisted neck" mean?

What does a twisted neck look like? Someone compared it to "stargazing", which I found a video of it on youtube. But my cockerel is sick with a respiratory virus and his neck seems odd. He keeps holding his head back in the "tucked head in their wing" postition, but he doesnt tuck his beak. He just holds his head their. However, he can move his head and neck, he turned to the opposite side once to look around, but he seems to just want to keep in to the right.
What does this sound like?? And what could be wrong? Do you think this is from the virus?

There are a few different conditions which lead to odd neck positions. Try Vitamin E first.
