What does typey mean?

I see it all the time when talking about breeding stock and would like to know what in the heck you guys are talking about.

Basically, it means that a bird conforms closely to the Standard of Perfection for its breed.

Typical, conforms to the standards. Carries the traits/looks like the "type".

OOOOOOHHHH I see. Thanks!!! That means I got some silkies in my bator right now that are close to the SOP!!!!

Heck I just bought them because I thought the parents were very nice looking birds.

You won't know about your Silkies till they are close to mature, as far as the standard goes. Even with show quality parents, it takes hatching a lot of chicks to get one that is truly show quality. Hope they turn out great for you, though! You do up your odds by starting with typey parents.
