What does your coop look like/ coop ideas?

Although we started our coop some time ago, it is still not completely finished. Anxious to get our growing girls into the coop we put off finishing the trim.

Here is Mother Clucker's Hen House

This is the (ashtray) window that our girls painted for a little extra light in the coop.

We did an inverted guillotine type window frame. When the trim is applied a section will be removable to allow access so the insert can be changed. For now we have a nail securing the inserts. There are a solid, screened and a window inserts. We used floor register grates on both sides of the cupola for ventilation.

Mother Clucker...

is a bit of a bully but we have fairly successfully (knocking on wood) introduced her to the coop in the evenings. She laid and egg in the nest boxes for the first time last night...

Here is the addition we had to build when I couldn't resist more babies!

You can't tell in the picture, but there is a middle section for our banties. There are Buff Orpingtons in the front section & a mixture of Barred Rocks, Delawares, Welsummers & a Black Austrolorp in the back section.

mordarlar,

I am going to steal a bunch of ideas from that cool coup of yours. Great job! I love finding unique ways of reusing things.
