Crazy duck mom
Yes they will have a lot of coop space. What if I changed the dementions to 15 by 10. How many ducks could it hold then?

Here is how you figure out sq ft : length x width = sq ft (or inches - the measurement can change depending on what increments you are measuring in).Yes they will have a lot of coop space. What if I changed the dementions to 15 by 10. How many ducks could it hold then?
What makes the the 2-3 hrs not safe? Also what do you guys think about having my ducks in the run for all day but 2-3 hours a day VS having them out all day. The ducks who lived at this house before us were killed by a fox. We also have woods around the pond and I do not want them going in there and me having to run around trying to get them out of the woods. What do you guys think about that????

So, 15 ft x 10 ft = 150 sq ft
150 ÷10 = 15
I would say 13 - 15 ducks in that space, but if it were me and I wanted the maximum without as much stress, I think I would stick with 10 ducks.
What is your purpose for keeping ducks? Meat? Eggs? Pets?
Very nice area. Will the run go up to the pond? If you do a search for duck run - I think there is a pic or two of someone building their coop next to the pond with the run going into part of the pond.Standing from The Coop you can see the pond and the woods off to the right.

You can train your ducks, but not the snakes and turtles.Yes we have lots of snakes and turtles so that is one reason I will not let them out all day. The run will not go all the way to the pond so I will have to train them.
