What does YOUR farmhouse look like?! Post pictures here!

Wow! You've all got such neat places! I love looking at homes. Here's our place in Northern CA. It was a rental for 10 years before we bought it. The house/yard/everything was pretty run-down when we moved in. It's our first house and we were young, just didn't know better! Anyway, we've re-done almost every room, one at a time, gutting each one down to the studs and starting from there. It's a nice place now, but it is a smallish house (only 2 bedrooms/1bath/2 tiny closets). Our dream is to (have someone else) build a larger place in North Carolina on about 3-5 acres. Someday, but for now we enjoy what we have and be grateful for it!

The houses and barns here are just wonderful. I also love to look at houses and get ideas and ... wish....

Silkiechicken - is that for real? You live in the city? Looking at your house/garage shots it looks like you are out in the boonies .... then, the overview. Oh my!

We bought our place for the land and the best barn in the world. We didn't buy it for the house. It's a modular and is falling apart, always something else to fix up. But, when I look or go outside .... I love living here!

Where in central VA are you Missprissy? I've got a 19 year old son that is on summer break from school and works nights at UPS, he's looking for some extra $$ with a part time day job. He knows how to run a tractor, lawmower, shovel poop, etc.

We have the same problem here. 4 years running trying to hire out jobs. Lots of guys here that aren't working. I found out by trying to hire people that they don't want to work. Rather collect welfare and whine about how hard done by they are. We have a severe labor shortage here right now and it is easy to understand why. No one wants to work.

Going into Springfield last weekend, there was a man standing in the WEST BOUND LANE with a sign..."Going home to N.C. am hungry" I wanted to yell, hey, you are going the wrong way

Here are a few pics of our place.

The house before the Mrs. planted tons of flowers and shrubs.
