What does YOUR farmhouse look like?! Post pictures here!

After being layed off last year I bought 5 acres in the sticks, across the road from my daughter. It's mostly trees but has a nice clearing for a garden and a small pond. There's a mobile home on it now - but it's not even worth repairing - it has to go.
Being on a limited retirement, there's no way I can afford to build a house, so I'm just going to go with a mobile home. But that's fine. It's the land I wanted anyway. And it's just me and my critters anyway.

The south end of the circular drive leading to where the mobile sits - and where mine will be.

This concrete pad is where the new chicken coop will be. The old coop in the background is where the Guinea coop will be. That little building with a paint job and new door will be the feed shed.

The next 2 pictures were taken over the winter.

The previous owner's kids used this as a fort - and it's a mess. But the building is solid, roof doesn't leak and it sits right in that clearing. It'll make a great garden shed when fixed up (and painted!)

The place needs a lot of work. But it'll be a fun project for retirement. I need to get a picture of the little pond. It needs work too.

I love all of y'all beautiful homes. I don't have a farm but I do have a small house and 1 acre. Here it is.

Here's our farm in northern France - it's beautiful we have a big barn, a lovely large pond with a chalet and acres of fields! The house look old but it's very modern inside and is heaven!!! It over 100 years old and was bombed during WW1 and WW2.

No, it's not a log home at all, it's log siding. We loved the look of it yet having traditional walls so electrical and such is not an issue. Also I like having drywall inside, seems bigger and brighter.

Ruth,

Just my opinion on wood burners. Get an indoor stove. It is a bit messier but I feel less heat is lost.

Furnaces use more wood, require duct work and a blower (what happens when the power goes out?), and put more pollutants in the atmosphere. I'm not convinced that they are that efficient.

I have to tell you all, I came home from work yesterday and my husband was sweeping out the barn. It used to be a barn for milking so some of it is concrete. I said what are you doing, and he said " have to keep the barn clean"

I love all your homes.

We only rent, we are hoping to buy this farm. It's 76 acres with a clean barn.
