Ruth. I FEEL THE SAME WAY! I keep telling my dh we have to sell. But then, I wake up and take a walk in the fields and think, omg, I dreamed about having a place like this as a little girl....My folks keep saying 'just do a little at a time." Um, that is all I can do!!!!!!!!!!! I have the summer off and have big plans but I know I will only get a fifth done of what I hope to.

We are trying to keep the integrity of the farm, but also need lower maintenance. It really is a balance.

Seriously, my grandparents and parents have a HUGE farm about 50 miles away. I'm living a little farther south, near my in-laws, in a mobile home, but have been dying to move back "home". I have a tiny white house there that was built by my grandparents in the 40's, I think it was. It's small, but amazing. Grandparents and parents have brick homes on either side of it now. At one point in time, they hired one of those aviation photographers that took an aerial shot of the whole place, it's hanging on my uncle's wall right now, something like a 24" by 24" shot.

Chickaroo! :

Miss Prissy or Ruth...can I move in with either of you!!?? I promise I'll be a good girl and help around the house and take care of the chickens!

Here is Greyfields!

1910 farmhouse which was entirely remodeled 3 years ago. New siding, new roof, new electrical, new plumbing, new sheet rock, restored the orginal wood floors and made an addition. It was also when the AGA was put in, which is the main reason we ever ended up looking at the house becuase it was out of our search radius.

The bard in the background dates from the same time as the house. It is going to be the project from hell once I start rehabbing it. But, I do love it and want to see it preserved (as well as the barn owl population in it).

I wish I were closer. I love doing general farm duties and getting paid for it. I do not understand why people won't do it. Luckily when I get overwhelmed here my neighbor is ready and willing to make the money.

This is "my" house
4 Bedrooms
2 full bathrooms (one with wirlpool tub)
1/2 bath
1 loft
finished basement
and a partridge in a pair tree!

Well, I just had to put my little piece of Heaven on here! We live 6 miles from town. And the town we live by is small. Seriously until a few years a go we had 3 stop lights in the whole town.

(That tells you how big it is.)
We live on 143 acres the property is the in laws. We take care of the place. Most all of the land is leased out to a local farmer. I love our location. On the farm we have. Chickens (of course) ducks, horses, cats, guineas (keets)and inside I have 2 snakes. (They are for sale ***HINT***HINT***) We have had pigs here and cows. I want a German Shepard to guard the property. Our driveway is just about 1 mile long and unfortunately 3 other families live on the drive. They are the neighbors from hell!!!! It has been in my DH family ever since land has had deeds. It was given to his Great-grandpa by the U.S. for his payment for serving in the world war. The original house burnt down, they rebuilt and then that one burnt as well. There has been many updates done to it. 2 years ago we resided and had all new windows put in. Slowly but surly it is all coming together!

This is our place, out in no mans land and I love it here. Some day I will get my porch, but I want it on the back. We live on 10 acres.
