What does YOUR farmhouse look like?! Post pictures here!

Ah, yes! I, most honorable Chicken Sensei, will take on eager learners of the chicken ways! First lesson, poop scooping!

Ya lost me with the cemetary.. *shudder* I do love saltboxes though. We dont have a farm house. Just a older 1920s home in a quiet "city" neighborhood. My moms house though.. she has the farm house. I am hoping to be able to buy my sister's share when the time comes. I will have to find some pics of "home"

Just your basic Midwestern farmhouse. We're lucky, we're only the third owners of this old place so most of it is still original other than the kitchen and baths.

That's really funny, we're the fourth owners of our new place, in reality I'd say we were the third since the person we're buying it from now has never lived in the house, he just bought the large farm to severe off the smaller one since he didn't need it... and our house is nothing like it should be, nothing is original except perhaps the stairs! and even they had a slight upgrade in the late 70s. Although, to be fair... we do have the original 2 inch thick maple floors that have been painted underneath all the atrocious stick on tile

Ps, your house is so cute.

I bought this house January 2007. It was built in 1887. It still has the original slate roof. It was almost completely gutted when I bought it... on 5 acres with a small pond. My family has help me do major remodeling!

This picture is early last summer:

Here is a picture last fall after I painted the outside:

The house still needs work. I need a porch, new siding, more new windows, and shutters! There are also 3 rooms upstairs that still need redone, but I think I am doing pretty good so far on a very limited income.

I also just bought an empty piece if land next door... 4.7 acres, so now I have just under 10 acres. More room for chickens!

My camera died, so i don't have any good current pics:(

Beautiful!!!! I'd be happy living in a tent if I had 10 acres!!!!

Christine - love yours too!! I'm the third owner of mine (sort of) and it's over 130 years old (stayed in the original family). Old homes have such wonderful charm!!!
