I have 21 chicks that will be 4 weeks old on Wednesday. I initially ordered 25, 23 for me and two for hooligan. Two died in shipping and hooligan's 2 have long ago settled in their new home.
My 21 are 7 light brahma pullets, 6 dark brahma pullets, 6 buff brahma pullets and the 2 roos, a dark and a buff. My dark roo looks very much like what I'm told a roo should look like at this age, my buff one looks more like he's just one of the girls. We'll see, eventually.
I've got plenty of room for more, but I'm content with what I have.

As of yesterday I added a trio of Black Bantam Cochin's, 3 1/2 months old and have a broody sitting on 16 eggs. The rooster of those eggs is a handsome Columbian Wyondotte and all his girls are red & black sex links, RIR, Barred Rocks, White Rocks (which is the wonderful broody) 1 EE but I did not see any of her eggs in there because they are a beautiful blue. And I have a couple of bantie/EE mixes, 1 Speckled Sussex SOOOOOOOOO I have no idea whose eggs she is sitting on or what I will get. I am never going to make it until hatch time.

I decided to sell Zaxby and his girls and I also sold off my frizzles to go with something different this year. I'm excited for them to get to point of lay. The silkies should be laying by the end of june! The others will be around Nov. and I can't wait.

Wow, y'all are making me feel better! I thought I was getting too many chickens this year...now I am embarassed to admit how few I have lol
So far I have new: 1 turkey, 2 turkens, 7 barred cochin bantams, 2 americaunas, and later this month I am probably getting more bantam cochins in asst colors....and if I get up towards Auburn while AlabamaGirl still has that red hen, I am going to get her!
