What dogs do everyone own?

Big dogs next to small dogs is my favorite thing!! They're so cute!! Great job naming them.
I don't know much about black mouth curs, I'd love to hear about them!!

Black mouth curs are actually Tennessee hunting dogs. A litter of puppies were sent up up from the south through a rescue group when the mom was hit by a car. We picked him up from the rescue on Christmas Eve.
He is a hunting dog by breed, but he's a chicken livestock guardian dog by choice. He watches for hawks, sounds the alarm and chases after them. He's a good boy and learned it on his own.
Biko (a girl) is named after Stephen Biko, African apartheid activist. Biko (pronounced Beeko) loves to be in the midst of the chickens, but she sneaks into the coop and steals eggs and then tries to blame it on Wiley.

thank you! Mcnabs are my very favorite- have you met one!? They’re kind of like a short hair border collie but with some different traits too- VERY intelligent and great energy. My bulldog is hilarious she has had epilepsy since she was 7 months old though- little trooper.

Oliver is a miniature, and Finley is a toy. They’re so sweet! And they are already 10 years old!

Riley - 11y.o black lab mix - rescued her when I was in college and she was just a little nugget. Her original owner was in HS and used a fake ID to adopt her out without asking her parents she used to be my hiking buddy, but she now spends most of her days napping with my cat.

Remus - 9y.o pit/dachshund/?? mix - he completely stole mine & my husband's heart when we saw him getting beat up by a chihuahua at the pound He is my garden buddy, always on the hunt for frogs and too smart for his own good.

I think it’s something in the gene because there’s other genes that cause Merle or similar look that don’t have issues I think. And I suspect the health problems in other breeds might not be from the merle itself but just from the fact that they are unhealthy/BYB and more prone to them in general? Idk

Border Collies come in short hair too I love McNabs though. They’ve always intrigued me LOL
