What duck food to use!!

1 tablespoon nutritional yeast to a cup of feed is the accepted formula that I often see. I used Gamebird starter which had plenty of Niacin so that wasn't an issue. The protein content was pretty high so I cut it with 18% chick starter which worked very well.

When my wife allows ducks again (or if I get them anyways and weather the storm that follows) I intend to try Metzers vitamin/mineral pack. That way I can feed any starter I want to and not have to worry about it.

It's only $5, but when I went to order it I found out the shipping was like 8 bucks! Considering picking up a bunch when I am driving by their hatchery sometime and offering to send them to other BYC members if we can figure a cheaper way to ship them. Any interest in that? And if so what's the cheapest way to ship it?

I currently have one female Pekin. Her companion was lost to a predator and we have thee female ducklings shipping the 18th. She’s not currently laying so maybe I need to wait till she is for the layer. She’s a year old on the 26th of March.
