What dufus decided we needed digital TV?????

I have a huge roof antenna that's about about 4 years old. It was the biggest radio shack carried. It picked up 3, 9, 12an 23 out of Chattanooga(30ish miles away over the mnts. When I hooked up a digital box I got 3,9,12, 23, 45, 53 an 61. Channel 3 hasn't made the digital only change yet but there broadcasting low power digital. When I hook my home made antenna up I lose 3(only one still in VHF), 9 is about the same, 12 is about 20% better an everything else is twice as good as my roof top antenna.

My only compliant is that if someones car is running in my driveway the TV breaks up. It does that on both antennas.

My antenna (over 20 years old) gets better reception than the "box" we had to pay $20 on top of the "gift card"....Sounds like a plot to make every one get cable. Well our budget leans to high speed internet, not tv. We are thrifty (nice way of saying budget impaired) since I retired) and we full time farm and get our videos from the library. We'll stick with the antenna and just hate the box. It jumps in andn out and says weak signall all the time. I can still get more channels on the antenna...Maybe it won't happen.

Can you find local stations via your internet? CBS, NBC, and ABC should have some feeds online.

Nice looking antenea. I was surprised that people still used rabbit ears. I've had cable or satellite so long I forgot about rabbit ears. We augh about the days when all you could get was 5 fuzzy channels. It's kind of like black and white.

How many people have a b/w TV?

This digital crud is not impressing me at *all* It freezes up sometimes, and reminds me of a scratched dvd. We have a nice, big 36" tv in our family room, that we splurged on when we moved into our new house 4 years ago...guess all it's good for now-movies, and games

I am not wasting my money on buying any of the converter boxes, so we are just going to have our Directv turned back on (had it shut off for awhile, to save some funds. Forget it, I want my shows back.
