Have you even used these with the same success as the guys in the video? I have seen traps like this before but have never known anyone who could give me a first hand review. I have also seen the use of tree snares?? I dont know if that is what they are called but you mount them on an overhanging limb and then as they walk through to get bait it tightens thus holding them until you can dispose of them. Why not use the Duke Dog Proof Coon Trap instead? Check out the video.
Everything we trap is shot afterwards since we are lacking a good dog. My grandfather raised blue tick coon hounds for many years and now my uncles raise them. They are amazing animals.I had a coon do the same thing to one of my older live traps.
A snare is not effective on coons.
I have used them on Coyotes,Hares,Fox, but never caught a coon.
If you have chickens there will be predators.
A .22 is your best bet for coon elimination, a good dog will do wonders.

Foxes are hard to catch and easy to hold.
Coons are easy to catch and hard to hold.
Those Dog proof traps work good.Shove a marshmellow in the bottom.
