Chirping
I have a 3 month Ameracuana roo that has what I guess is a severely impacted crop. It is the size of a tennis ball and super hard. He has been like this for a week. I put him in a smaller cage to separate him I put a plate with a piece of bread soaked in olive oil. He did not eat it the first day, but the second day he picked at it a little. By the 5th day he ate it all (a new piece, not the old original). Yesterday we went out and held him almost upside down and massaged it to try and loosen it up. He gagged some, but nothing came out. He acted like it hurt some so we stopped.
What else can we do? I cannot afford a vet/surgery. This is from a straight run batch that we ended up with a lot of roos and planned on trying to sell him or give him away anyways. I cannot justify the cost of surgery on a bird that might end up on a plate anyways. He is a pretty blue Ameraucana roo, but not worth the hundreds it would cost for surgery
How long should I give him?
