I had fan issues this morning and now I am having humidity issues.

I am on day 17:th And the humidity on the original gauge I had says 55 But I put another brand new gauge in it this morning and it says 34. The temp is accurate on the new gauge So could the old humidity gauge not be any good. What should I do?

i just calibrated my new hygrometer last night and it reads 10% low and the temp part is dead on. I learned that just because it is new and the temp is dead on does not mean that the hygrometer half is correct. You could calibrate it, it takes 8-12 hrs but then you would know what your humidity is for the last 3 days.

Here are the directions I used.

Need..
1/2 cup table salt
1/4 cup water
Coffee cup
Hygrometer
Large resealable freezer bag

Place salt in cup
stir in water (will end up with a wet sand consistancy)
place cup into bag then add hygrometer (do not get any salt water on it!)
Seal bag leave at room temp for 8-12 hrs

It should read 75% if it does not note the difference
Examples
If reads 70% then add 5% to your reading
If reads 80% then subtract 5% from your reading
