Texas KiKi, I googled "how to keep mongoose out of chicken coop or nesting box". We free range our chickens most of the day, so what I was really looking for was how high can a mongoose jump, so I would know how high to build my nest boxes without having to use a ramp for the hens to get in, but that search did me no good and I could not find an answer to how high they can jump. By observing them it is not all that high and we have been able to get them to move further away over the last few days with the changes we have already made, but I am sure they will be back. We have not suffered any loses with our adults, but they just started laying a few weeks ago and the mongooses have become interested in the coop for the eggs. Because we free range and the nesting boxes are currently built into the coop, we have to leave the door open during the day. We want to stop this and have separate nesting boxes so I can close up the coop but still free range. Anyway, the search lead me here which gave me great ideas to predator proof my coop but again that does me no good if I leave the door open LOL. I am excited to get our poultry net soon, I think I will feel better knowing I at least have that to protect my girls, (along with my awesome rooster who does a great job).

Hi and thanks for the video! I googled many things LOL.

"Sexing Pekin ducks"
"Is my duck getting enough vitamins"
"when will my pekin ducks get feathers"
"how often should i feed my adult ducks"

and probably half a dozen other things, and this site popped up time after time, and I liked that it was a discussion page and not just articles, so I kept clicking the links :)[/QUOTE]
