My son went up to our chicken, she was born in may, 13th?, and she got real low, and put up her shoulders and wouldn't move... is this a squat, or something else?

Sounds like a squat. Has she started laying? Mine never did it until they started laying.

There are a couple threads with pictures in them. This is the best picture I have managed to get of a squat. Generally she puts her head down, and if you pet near her tail, she will raise it straight up.
