What exactly is a "pop door"? and a fence depth question

I keep reading about people installing "pop doors" but I'll admit I only think I know what they are... I could be wrong. Is it an entrance/exit for the chickens that has the ability to be closed??? Or am I way off here?

And how deep should you dig down your fence on your run? I'm guessing about 18 inches maybe?

Yes to the door. It's a small door usually about 12 inches square.

Most suggest to bury the wire 12 to 18 inches deep and roll it out horizontally as well(underground), cover it up and there you are.

well if it is just a door.....what is the "pop" about it that makes it called a "pop door"?

Okay...okay... I get it now - LOL. So pop-door is fancy-talk for "a little bitty door just small enough for chickens"

I guess I assumed it was one of those fancy doors I've seen that automatically pops open and shut on a timer or whatever... LOL.
