What first comes to your mind when you think of summer?

It can be anything- activities, sights, smells- whatever comes first. I'll start:
Chickens eating bugs in the lawn, sweet potato fries.

watermelon, napping all afternoon in the hammock, forgetting what socks are.

Humidity, heat, watermelon, humidity, gnats, no 4-H, humidity, moquitoes, no-school, humidity, fewer students in town, ice cream, and humidity.

, strawberries out of the garden, sandals, weenie roasts, sleeping with the windows open, SUNSHINE . . .my kind of weather!

GREEN!

The smell of green when the lawn is getting mowed.
The taste of green in the asparagus, peas, beans and spinach.
The color of green in all the wonderful plants we miss so much for ½ of the year (here anyway).

Well, not being cold, too. A definite plus.

mmmm, that freshly mowed grass smell late in the afternoon, as everything is cooling down with the sound of thunder in the distance.

Humidity, BABIES[horses, cows, etc.], humidity, droughts, lemonade, fresh fruits and veggies home grown, humidity, drought drought drought drought, horrible rain storm that you pray will touch the ground, more drought, water activities
