what do you grow?
I like spinach salads. Instead of lettuce I use spinach and it’s not the yummiest thing in the world but it fills me up and keeps me full.

I’m going nuts I tell you. I haven’t heard it in a while. I’m exhausted ready to sleep but I’m just not comfortable

That sounds amazing!! We mostly just grow tomatoes and peppers but this year I had grand plans and then didn’t plant most of them or killed them also the chickens and horn worms ate most of our tomatoes this year! but we had a ton of different kinds of peppers! Sooo many jalapeños!! And a few bell and some weird Italian kind and some other kind no one liked but they produced like crazy lol we had some eggplant too but they got planted late so didn’t get much plus the chickens got them. We had a zucchini that did well too but we had a few HUGE ones we forgot to pick and gave to the birds last year we had a ton of green beans and eggplant lol and so many tomatoes! We tried lettuce this year but most of it died. I’m thinking next year just one or two plants of each lol

Last year we seriously got sooooo many green beans LOL and this year we got so many jalapeños and I wanted to make bacon wrapped quail poppers but then I didn’t. I actually froze a bunch but we had to throw them out recently as I just tossed them in whole and loose idk, I didn’t want them going bad lol

And you need to do something about that mouse or take some melatonin

Last year we seriously got sooooo many green beans LOL and this year we got so many jalapeños and I wanted to make bacon wrapped quail poppers but then I didn’t. I actually froze a bunch but we had to throw them out recently as I just tossed them in whole and loose idk, I didn’t want them going bad lol

Did you throw them in your compost pile?? I love jalapeños!! Shoulda pit em in vinegar and added them to your nachos months later.

I don’t hear it anymore and it’s been a good minute since I heard it so maybe it went somewhere else or is quiet for now. I will catch that mouse before the end of the week!!

Oh that’s a good idea!! I didn’t think fo that although today my parents were gonna toss some other stuff and I’m like why are you tossing that!? we used to compost but haven’t recently but I’ve decided we need to again LOL

I’ve been slacking on my compost but so far all my animals can eat all the food I have leftover.

Banana peels get eaten my the cows. Apple cores do too (I cut em up into tiny pieces).

I hear citrus stuff shouldn’t really be composted. But I use it to make cleaners then throw em away since they’re filled with vinegar. Not sure if vinegar is good for compost, gotta research that

I actually noticed that the trays from dinner tonight said they were compostable and turn into soil in 90 days so I wouldn’t let them throw them away and got them out of the trash most of the time when products say they’re “compostable” it’s only in an industrial composting facility not a backyard if you read the fine print lol so I loved that this turns to soil! We’ll see if it does lol 90 days is probably in summer

Okay it’s been a while since I heard it so imma go to bed and hope and pray I wake up to a dead and/or trapped mouse in one of the 4 traps I set out.

I thought I heard a captured squeak but it was all my imagination.

Will do!! And sometimes fear can do crazy things and/or the brain can play tricks! I will occasionally think I see or hear things when it’s really dark and jump and then it’s always just a shadow or something falling or whatever I hate the dark lol
