I could be wrong but don't you have your grandmother to buy for? My grandmother loved aprons with pockets. And her favorite movie was-- A Trip to Bountiful. Oh and orange marmalade. Try to think of something she likes to eat but doesn't get any more. Maybe a beautiful antique cup and saucer with a favorite beverage. Another thought would be, did your grandfather get her the same gift every year? My grandfather gave my GM Nina Ricci Perfume every year. It was heart warming to give it to her after he was gone. Sorry I am not much help.

I think most all young girls love hair stuff. Last year I needed one more small gift for my grand daughter to even things out. I bought her one of the hairbrush box sets with a hand held mirror, combs and clips. Cost $5.00. It was her favorite gift, go figure. It was at Wal-mart. Most nail stuff, make-up and lip glosses.

Usually neat camping stuff for the boys. Pocket Knife. Grandson loved Ozark Trail Hobo something or other...it is like a swiss army knife, fork, spoon can opener and bottle opener $3.86 also at Wal-mart. These were filler type gifts that turned out to be hits.

I like to find out what they like to read. I like cheap bath stuff.

I don't know how to post links but I get a catalog that I just about want one of each of everything.

Sort of in the same boat. I don't have many to buy for, but who I do, I'm a blank on

All my presents have been things I would want.... I can never be sure if it's what the other person would want.... the presents go like this....

Plants.
Animals.
Plants.
Animals.

Neat plants like Plumeria cuttings ordered in the mail and started in a pot before Xmas.

Neat animals that aren't too much burden... like Bettas imported from Thailand.

Butterflies.... I want to buy *someone* some Butterflies.... but now I'm in a mental tangle.... that is, Aren't they sick of animals and plants yet?! LOL

So I try to think of something pracitcal.... and those things are all inanimate.... which leads me back to thinking... "That's not much of a present.... it might be useful, but can it make you happy?" and so forth.....

Kids want video games and legos so that is online purchase.Dh is buying himself electronics and shoes.I am getting a cheapo phone since I lost mine. I am sending my friend some burt bees stuff, vitamins, catnip for her 5 cats, and a $25 gas card,$10 pizza card, and $10 dunkin donut card.
My mom is the tough one.Last year she wanted a scale. I have gotten her a bunch of seed packs(hungarian stuff and lions tail).Juicer.

Me I am still hoping for a gun,but the phone is good enough for now.I also love the gift of dh going out in mid winter and doing all the shopping(food and otherwise),because I hate winter driving. I bought and gave my mom some giganticus mscanthus(sp).
I also gave my mom a $100 gift card to a local food/discount store and told her to buy foods she normally would not splurge on.

I am saving up to buy my mom a laptop so that we can do video phone with her and the kids.

My friend just got an air purifier and loves it.

Heres who I have to buy for.

middle sister. early 30s (housewife)

girl 11 (justin bieber fan)
girl 4
little sister early 20s (likes sparkly vampire books/movies)
little brother 20 ish
his kid
boy 1

Around $35 max on each to be able to get everyone something...

Husband- older than dirt- book on raising pheasants (he hates looking that type of stuff up on the internet)
Parents and everybody else- Christmas tree ornaments at $2-4 each.

My purchases so far:

Laptops from Walmart (The Acer brand which is just as good as any) for my high school senior son, and my high school junior step son

For my granddaughter, who is just short of 2 years old, I bought her a Disney Princess beanbag chair and the Disney movie DVD "The Lion King"

For my grandson, who will be just short of 3 months old, I bough a Playschool brand thing....It's a quilt and when you lay them on the floor it has an arch above with toys that hang down for him to grab at, and at his feet, there is a piano that when he kicks it, will play music, it has fun toys and mirrors......(I can't think of what it's truly called)

My parents, who are in their 70s, love jigsaw puzzles, so they get puzzles, and also a gift cert to have dinner out, since they're on a fixed income.

My oldest son, who also has a birthday the day after christmas is 23. I bought him a PSP GO, which is one of those portable video game consoles that you can download games to.

I want to buy my husband a nice tool chest--the kind that fits in the back of his truck--you know, the really big ones, that go across the entire truck bed. He also likes to read, so I'm getting him a book by Francis Reader--his Civil War Memiors.

That's about all I have done yet.....

I wish I could convince my family that I'm SERIOUS when I say that I'd like something pratical for Christmas. Like a load of gravel for the driveway.. or new tires... or a gift cert to the feed store.... When I suggest things like this they say "That's not much of a present".

Fine, give me more lotion and bath oil... Here's a hint - my hands look like I need lotion and bath oil because I'm hauling and spreading gravel 1/2 ton at a time

Sorry for the rant
