We already have 5 adult roosters and one of our hens went broody... The mum is ginger and we don't know which one of the roosters is the dad... We had another hatch 4 days laterAt 5 weeks that is definitely a cockerel. Where did you get him? He is the wrong colour for a male red sex link (ISA Brown etc) so I would guess that his mother was probably a red sex link and he is a cross or second generation.
Do you have any pullets? 6 cockerels are going to wreak havoc when they hit adolescence and even if you had 30 pullets to go with them, there is likely going to be injury and certainly stress to the girls. Putting the males in a separate pen (bachelor pad/rooster flock) before their hormones kick in (14-15 weeks) would be a wise move if you are going to keep them all. Even then, you may have fights break out.
