What do you mean by the comb waddles? And how can you tell from the feathers?
They're five weeks old (almost six now) and they are getting fluffy lol

This has been an extremely informative and entertaining thread! :)
I will be trying golfballs in a couple of months.
---once my hens start doin' the squat.
Five gallon buckets for laying- check.
---need supports to prevent rolling- noted.

I currently buy various colors of eggs from a fantastic lil ol' lady down the road...they all taste the same, but they do not taste the same as store bought. Hers are MUCH better...and she offers me advice knowing that I fully intend to "compete" ;) She's all for it!

waddles are the things below, which if it was a roo it would be more developed.Combs the red thing on the head.Normally if its a roo its big and tall or when their 6 weeks they normally stick up just a bit a pullets comb is never seen at even six weeks unless you literally stick your face at the head.Roosters feathers look as if they,ve been wetted.Well, I also tell from tail feathers(Accept you must wait for this around 2 months you can tell from tail feathers).Roosters happen to look pretty to.

So because it isn't red, they're both girls basically?
