they’re both slightly over a month old right now. What gender are they? Also if you guys can, what breed are they? If you can’t it’s fine, I understand the pictures are bad. If more pictures are needed, I can take more

Cockerels, and likely a cross breed with some barred breed mixed in. If they had double barring I would say one of the barred breeds, BPR, CM, etc. but seeing as they only have single barring they are most likely mixes.

They do look like boys :S I agree.

If you live in a place where you can still keep roosters then you can still keep them. Seeing as they were raised together and there are no girls to fight over they will get along with each other.

Pretty sad, as they are my only chickens, but oh well. Thanks guys!

You can get more I think.

But when you do you want to account for losses like this.

Say I want 3 hens, I'd go buy 6 under the assumption that some would be boys to put down, and maybe I'd lose another through an accident or whatever. And then I'd end up with probably 2 or 3 if I'm lucky.

You may have growing pains also as a person just barely getting into this.

But the good news is that most city ordinances in the US typically state 5 or 6 as limits. So this means you could probably ('probably' heh) do a few more than you are.

But another issue is why did the place that sold them to you only give you boys? Did you tell them you were a first time owner? (I would never tell people if it was my first time, because people have a tendency to take advantage like this.)

It is possible...that they didn't know they sold you boys, but I've been seeing a common pattern here that makes me upset. I've seen LOTS and Lots of accounts of 'first time owners' being sold boys way more than can be explained as accidental. The math shows that its not always accidental.

How is it that 'first time owners' somehow... 80% of the time end up with the boys that the owners were trying to get rid of and hardly any or no hens?

Look like Barred Rock cockerels especially if only 4 weeks old.

I thought they looked like barred rocks also, but I was afraid to say it because my chicken experience is kind of limited, compared to ducks.

You could also get sex-links or sexed pullets from a big feed store like Rural King or TSC. I have gotten all of my birds from stores like that and all of the 'pullets' were pullets. And the 'straight run' were straight run and about 50/50, except my newest straight runs which were all pullets when I was hoping for some roosters. If you get sex-links they will be pullets 100% guaranteed unless they were breed wrong. And I have only ever lost one chick along the way. I did lose others to various preds. but they were pullets by then not chicks.
