What gender are they???

But one of them (the yellow one) seems to have a really rooster posture and some black tail feathers. I just really really really hope I can keep these two. I had two before and people on this website all told me they were pullets and then I got attached then they starting crowing super loud and then I had to give them away but little did I know the people I gave it to killed them 😭 I just found out lately and I literally cried I just really hope I can make sure with these two so I can find a good home for them early on if they are roos
tailfeather color has nothing to do with bird gender, and is only part of identifying breed. She looks like a red sex link, production red, or possibly a new Hampshire. There are other possibilities also. She looks like she's 3-4 weeks away from laying, maybe longer. Your black speckled one looks like will be a little bit after the red one.

Thank you so much the reason I mentioned the feathers is because my old roosters had these blackish feathers that started to look more green at the end so I was kinda scared.

A hen's black feathers will get the same shine. It has to do with the molecular structure of the feather and the wat light refracts with it.

Do you know what breed my brownish chicken is?
More like I can state what she is NOT. She isn't a Rhode Island red, wyandotte, any feather footed or crested bird, an orpington, a sussex, or the incredibly rare breeds.

Options of what she potentially is: production red, ISA brown, red star, new Hampshire___all are brown egg layers

Possibly a beardless EE (if her eggs are blue or green, then likely)

Wheaten marans (long shot, but if eggs are close to chocolate colored, then yes)

Ok yea I know she’s mixed because the father was a Rhode Island red for sure but I just don’t know what the mom was, from the place I got them they had a lot of hens, some New Hampshire red, some barred rock, some mixed barred and New Hampshire maybe? and a gold Wyandotte so maybe do you know who the mom is?
