My guess is pullet. That's what my two girls looked like at that age. My little Owen was much lighter.

Your chick has a crest. It isn't a Plymouth Rock.

Sexing barred chicks by coloring only works if both parents were barred. If only the hen was barred, it's a male for certain because that makes him a sexlink. If it was the rooster that was barred, you'll have to wait and see.
