Pullet.I know it’s still too young to really tell but I’m hoping it’s a hen
Boys have mullets, girls have toupees. I had to use the search engine to aid my memory. What was the whole mullet/toupee quip about the head spot on Barred Rocks . . . ? Something about pullets having a mullet, males have a toupee . . . I might have that backwards.

The headspot is no longer reliable for sexing.Boys have mullets, girls have toupees. I had to use the search engine to aid my memory.![]()
Yeah, I agree. One of those things that had to be maintained in the breeding and usually isn't.The headspot is no longer reliable for sexing.
Don't sell yourself short. You do a great job and definitely aren't a novice. The truth is we are all making educated guesses most of the time on here, and all of us are wrong sometimes and right at other times. It's the community consensus that helps people the most, in my opinion. My opinion of this being a cockerel was not based entirely on the size of the head spot (OP, small on a female [toupee], large on a male [mullet]), but also on the prominence of the comb and on the barring of the wings. I realize, however that I am a novice at sexing and y'all are way more experienced than I, so the OP should take my opinion with a tablespoon of salt and be very skeptical of anything I say on the matter.
