Hi all! What gender do you think this (a little shy of) 4 1/2 week old Birchen Modern Game Bantam is? I really need it to be a girl but it’s probably a boy. My sister keeps telling me it’s a boy and I know she’s probably (definitely) right. 😕

I don’t see waddles yet, but the comb is kinda large. It’s starting to get white on its neck (hens and roosters have white) but not on the wings yet. There’s a little brown on some of the wing feathers but not sure if that means boy or girl. Lol I have it’s parents and the hen has brown on her wings but not sure if the rooster does or not.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance!
(Ignore the white paint on my hands. We were painting the chicken coop! 😜)

I dont know a lot about Modern Games (other than I'm pretty sure I need some), but my guess would be pullet. If they develop anything like OE or American Games, the boys will be sporting decent sized combs by 4 weeks.

@The Moonshiner had some at one point. He may have a better idea.

I also think It may be too early to be sure. I'm not leaning towards a for sure male just yet. IDK.
Here's pic of a pair I had. Of course hens comb isn't showing in either pic but that rooster has a fairly large comb and huge wattles.

Thank you for those pictures! That helped a lot. :) I own it's parents but the rooster's comb and waddles had been dubbed before I bought him so I couldn't use him to compare.

It's early to tell. I do have some pics of mine at 6 weeks. (Pretty close in age to yours) Neither had growth in the comb/wattles. For the 1st few weeks I thought the blue one could be male, because it was much bigger. Both ended up being female. The black is still more petite.

Here are the same birds at about 12 weeks

Thank you! My little baby doesn't have any waddles yet but it's comb looks a tad big. Your MGBs are gorgeous!

Is the black one in your first picture a Birchen MGB? Does it have white on it's neck yet?
Thank you!
