What gender is this barred rock???🤔

Hi this is our barred rock. They are 6 weeks old. ( all pick are the same chicken) I only have 1 barred rock so I can’t compare coloring. We think that he is a rooster but need to be sure

I I was think he was a rooster because he had a huge white spot on his head

Looks like a pullet to me. Very small, pale yellow comb, dark barring. Nothing at all screams cockerel, in my opinion. Thin red wattles are normal on young pullets.

Ed: 6 week old BR cockerels are much redder and have far lighter barring. Google some pictures to compare.

My first inclination was cockerel due to the wattles, but the comb is small and pale which indicates pullet. I personally don't raise BRs so i dont know if wattle size is an important factor. I would go with @featheredplanets and then update a picture in two weeks as well.

Yes please do update in a couple weeks! Not many people do but it’s interesting to see how they turn out
