I was asking if you got him recently by saying is he new.
And he’s a drake no doubt about that

Because he’s a duck.....

And that would be awful if he was mating with your chickens. Do you not have any female ducks in with him ? He’ll start mating with your hens soon if you don’t. Sounds like he’s a young drake, you say he only got his curled tail feather recently. Either get rid of him or get him some females before he ends up killing your chickens.

I thought if there were no other ducks around it would try to mate with the chickens. The hens squat when i get near them. Our current rooster doesn't mate with them. He's tried but he has leg injuries.

Ok. We'll try to get him some females. If we can't do that we'll either eat him ( ;-; ) or we'll find someone to give him to.

Drakes do NOT have the same anatomy as a rooster. They can kill a chicken hen by trying to breed her.
