So I got my baby on the 26th of April, I believe it was around 1-2 weeks old. I’m curious to see what gender my Indian blue peachick is? Any guesses on the more experienced peacock owners? I know it might be too soon to tell but I’m guessing male.

Since it is Spaulding I will be contrary and say hen
You have an eye!!!! I forgot to mention that the farmer I purchased this peachick from said it might be mixed with pure Spaulding ( I forgot the actual name he gave me but he mentioned its an endangered species). He wasn't sure if it would be. But he mentioned it to me incase it came out a bit green blue instead of true Indian blue. His IB hen jumped on over to the Spaulding green pen and his male mated with her but she also had mated with the IB.

Here’s baby baby at one month and two weeks now. Some change. I can’t wait until it hits the 3 month mark.

What do you think now? I know it’s still early but I think it’s fun guessing.

I see the argument for both sexes. The thin verticle lines on the neck say male. The overall gray-brown body is hen along with the wide bars fading. The body lacks the reddish color and thin barring that indicates male. A little more time will tell.
