I also have a "pair" but mine are red frizzles. My hen is "non-frizzly" and the roo (who at 24 weeks still isn't crowing) has the curly frizzle gene. I really think your uncurly chick is a pullet. The "red" around the frizzle is definitely more evident.

Give them a few more weeks though. It's amazing how many times I've gone back and forth, not sure. Until they start crowing or an egg is layed (I'm still waiting at 24 weeks!) you sometimes are really only guessing!

2 roos. My 16+ week old cochin's comb is just starting to go that red.

Will I guess one must be a rooster. I was just out in the coop and I heard a strange sound from one of the chicks. Not a peep, but a half way try of a crow. Oh No... I did not see which one made the sound.
