ok, there great pics but if she had her head bent down the feathers that would kinda stick up in the air in the back of the neck is what we are looking for. can u take pic of those feathers with your hand under them or a contrasting color like a piece of paper? im sorry but im not seeing it well. if they come to a point its a roo rounded is hen. combs and wattles grow at different rate

cograts, its a little girl! this is the only true sexing method for started pullets. one day chicks can be vent sexed but a little to late for that. wish i could post pics of mine, wattles are larger than that. its just the breed. google pics of female cochins, u see

This bird is male.

First, it is 2 months old. That much comb on a cochin at this age means male.
Second, the darker red patches on the wings always means male.
Third, the tall, lanky build is adolescent male.
Fourth, the thick legs are male.

Cochins are considered a "giant" breed, like Brahmas, and are slow to mature. Even on a regular dual purpose cockerel, 2 months is the very young end of the age where you'd get pointed hackle or saddle feathers. The fact that this bird's feathers are rounded doesn't mean it's female, it just means he's young and the hormones aren't flowing yet. Cochins may not crow or try to mate until 6+ months old, being a slow to mature breed. But he will eventually do both.
