So you're saying that by adding only Columbian to a duckwing female, you deplete the patterning in the neck, but adding Melanizer throws it back in just the way it was, sans the Salmon?
I'm certainly no breeder, expert, or someone who really knows what goes on behind a true Ginger Red, but, pretty sure they or at least that example of a bird isn't e+/e+ Co/Co and s+/-
Male ginger reds have less black in them (the hackle especially) than Quails and even my simple restricted Araucana male or EE males, as if they are either Wheaten based or have Db in them. My Wheaten based boys with Columbian look more like Ginger Reds than my duckwings.
Someone who knows Ginger Red, wanna step in?
