What got my chickens

Something has been picking off my chickens and eating the eggs, leaving feathers and shells. This morning we saw our coop door wide open, and found a big pushed in spot in the screen. A couple days ago one chicken went missing and another had a torn comb. My chickens roost on top of their coop - not in it. Would that be a raccoon or weasel?

Secure the screen from the other side by attaching lumber, sandwiching the screen.

1/2" hardware cloth will prevent all but the tiniest of critters from getting in and stealing eggs. ( secured with screws and washers or poultry staples) Young chickens have to be trained to go inside.

Until you make the coop secure and predator proof I wouldn't advise you to lock your chickens inside this coop or you'll loose them all .If you need help please ask...
