What happened to bath towels?

We have a saying here, and I think it's very true. 'Buy cheap and you buy twice'. Of course we all find ourselves in the position these days when buying cheap is all we can stretch too.

My father always told me to fix the cheapest thing first. Start with the fuses, then the fuel filters. We used to have a lot of problems here with vapor lock on cars because of the heat. He always would put a wooden clothes pin on the fuel line to prevent that. I don't know why, but it always worked.

It's not just towels, it's tea towels/drying up cloths or whatever you call them. Back in the day, they were made of linen, very absorbant and large enough to tuck into your waistband as an apron, as well as dealing with drying the dishes. Now they are the size of dusting cloths, and goodness knows what they are made of but it doesn't absorb water and you need to use three to dry the dishes!
