Hello, My white silkie Gerri is turning into a porcupine (so my kids think)

Well about a month ago she had a severe poop on the rear feathers issue, so I cut them back and cleaned her up. She has been fine and clean. I haven't taken a real close look lately and today noticed (feather shafts) coming out from where I cut the feathers back. I didn't cut them all the way either. I noticed some on her head too. She is a year old now and has not molted yet. Here are a couple pics to help.

She is still happy and healthy though

shes fine Ann just growing in her big girls feathers--her prettier big girl feathers...She be even more beautiful as hard as that may be to comprehend

Yeah...looks kind of painful when those feather shafts come through...like hedgehog quills. I always wonder if it's itchy or how that feels when they start poking through like that...
