What happened to my Marans egg ?

Any ideas about this egg? Been raising chickens a long time. Iv never seen this. All these laid today and 1 splotchy egg.

For some reason there was an incomplete 'painting' of pigment. Pretty neat if she would do that every day.

Is this splotchy egg being laid by an older bird? As they age the bloom colors can change, takes the bird longer to replace the "dye" internally, so less color is put on the egg.

No they are all 2 and 3 years old.

Diet, environment, stress levels, many things can effect the bloom.
