What Happens if I get caught??

I plan on getting a small number of Hens to have in my backyard... My question is what does happen if I do happen to get caught? Do they say that isn't allowed you have to get rid of them warning style or do they usually give you a fine from the get go?

It depends on what the statue says. I think they would give you so much time to comply with the statue,

Funny you should ask! I call my local PD and they could care less and "know of no law against a few hens" like a dope I call the health dept who didn't know and they connected me to zoning after a hour they claim no. Needles to say I am getting 5 chicks anyway. Their "pets" and if the PD doesn't care then if there is a issue I will see them in court!!

I did have some call the local animal shelter about my chickens the funny thing is I had to read her the statue because they didn't even know it.

so I have my chickens which is legal here and I love them.

My chickens are "illegal" as they are against town ordinance that is ridiculous. To be "legal" in my town I would have to obtain a permit (that the town clerk says does not exist) and get permission from my neighbors and I would be able to keep 2 hens on my 1 acre property. So I said ***** that and did it anyway. I was told I could be fined if I did it and maybe asked to take them out of town if there are any complaints. I dare them to try to make me. They will have a massive fight on their hands.
