What happens if you remove the chicks a bit too early from the incubator/hatcher after they hatch?? Not when they are still all wet, but if they were not quite ready to come out? (and, yes, I realize that would not be the ideal situation

I am incredibly impatient, and have yet to wait until they are fully fluffed. I have not had a problem...just make sure the brooder is plenty warm enough, and the room they are in is draft-free! I make sure that directly under the brooder light is the same temp as the incubator.

when we used a incubator, If they were wet, or had troubles walking (Just came out of the shell and hadn't gotten their land legs), or something like the yolk isn't absorbed. We'd take them out and put them in the brooder, The rest stay'd in the incubator.. All went well.

Oh good...we took one out before we went to bed last night and put him in the brooder with the other one that had hatched. He was mostly dry, but not totally. He's still a bit wobbly, and I was worried that it was because we took him out too early. I tend to be a bit on the impatient side...
