We have lost 2 bc they went up creek and something got them both. We were thinking a couple of coyotes maybe, or maybe a couple foxes. Snakes got tons of eggs last spring, and tried to swallow a Muscovy hen that it murdered, but she was too big so it spit her out. We think a mink got the first one that got killed. There was a gash on her neck, but not a drop of blood anywhere. We think we scared it off when we came up on the 4 wheeler. We have a couple hawks that we keep seeing eyeballing the flock, but so far we been lucky with them. We hear coyotes, owls, and we have a fox that keeps calling out in the woods beside us and behind us, so several nights I've had to stand guard with a shotgun. I am all about coexisting with everything on this planet (except mosquitoes and roaches) but don't mess with my babies.

And we just saw either an otter or a muskrat(the latter is mostly a vegetarian, but will eat chickens and ducks if food sources r low). I know there have been bears and a mountain lion in the area, but thank goodness we haven't seen em in our yard. God knows everything else has been here. One night 2 coyotes came running down the driveway, like they were coming to visit

it happened to fast to do anything about it. As far as i know, raccoons or possums, have not bothered anything....YET....

I hope they don't .I do not like killing anything....but I will if forced.
