so i want to get has little has 4 chicks
ive looked at my pet chicken and meyer hatchery and chickens for back yards is there one in tx

Meter Hatchery is amazing! They have supplied all my baby chicks. I highly recommend them; great service, great birds, and great prices! However, there are also great local farms and rescues, so try to think of them as an option as well :)

I've used my pet chicken and meyer hatchery. No complaints for each. They all came in healthy. For both there is a minimum of chicks you can order. I believe Meyer was 6 and my pet chicken was 8. Shipping is expensive. My neighbor uses cackle hatchery every time and he loves them. Their shipping is a lil less at $20 but the minimum is 10 I think.

I use/used My Pet Chicken for almost all my flock ordering, I have twenty one chickens. More than half of them were MPC. I only got one chick that sadly didn't make it to our destination... One. Now yes, one too many... But one's better than ten!

I ordered 18 fertile eggs from Meyer's Hatchery and only one hatched. But then again she is my BEST hen. Lays the biggest eggs, follows me around, she's the sweetest thing.

The only one I want to try in the future is Cackle Hatchery I think they might be okay, but I can't personally suggest them yet. The other two are my experience though. Best wishes!

I've used my pet chicken and chickens for backyards for small orders.

All chicks arrived healthy from each.

I don't know what breeds you're going for, but I will say that all of the "ameraucanas" I ordered from Chickens for Backyards had to be culled because they all contracted a really bad mycoplasma gallisepticum infection that didn't appear to affect (infect) the other birds of the same age that I had from Murray McMurry (same breed). (McMurry doesn't offer small order shipping on day old chicks).

This isn't the hatcheries fault, per se, but the birds simply weren't as resistenat or resilient as I would like. I lost a lot of money because of that, but it could have happened with chicks from anywhere I guess. However, I won't order from them again just to be on the safe side.

I ordered 9 Faverolles from My Pet Chicken and one did die at a few days (no idea why) but all the rest are doing great, so far.
