What hatchery does TS special orders come from?

They have some nice breeds on the special order form, but I'd like to know where the come from. I know the chicks in the local store come from Mt.Healthy but considering they don't sell half the breeds on the order form I'm sure the chicks don't come from them.

Has anyone order chicks through Tractor Supply before?

The normal orders come from Mt. Healthy. I can ask, but I doubt they know. The only reason they knew where the ones in the store come from is because it says Mt.Healthy on the box. The people at the local store are probably some of the least knowledgeable people I've ever dealt with. Makes me miss the TS where I used to live.

I sent them a message through their website. We will see if they get back to me on it.

At my local TSC they have no say over what birds they get and when they come. The "chicken lady" gets a call from the PO in the morning and goes to get them. She gets them usually on Monday which means Mt. Healthy (where ours comes from) is shipping them out on Friday?!?. She knows almost nothing about chickens except how she was told to take care of them. She asks ME questions sometimes. So the manager probably doesn't know anything.

Somebody there has to know, otherwise they wouldn't be able to send in the order, right?

I'd ask for the manager.
Considering the order form is created by TS my guess is that the manager doesn't send in the order directly to the hatchery (as hatcheries normally have their own form). They probably take the form, call it into corporate, and they place the order.

Hopefully someone at customer service will get back to me with an answer. I just figured someone on here had to have placed an order with them instead of just picking out what they get in the store.

Our local TSC orders from Privett in New Mexico. I heard the last time we were there that the ducks might come from somewhere different? Also, the other local TSC (about 20 mins away) received 2 orders last week, with the second order having meaties that the first order didn't...It seemed a little weird to me because I believe last year they only got one shipment a week, shipped out on Mondays and in store on Tuesdays. I guess there are some kinks for their first orders this year or I just didn't notice them last year.

Hmm... I don't live close enough to a TSC for me to have much of an opinion, but that seems like way too much monkey business to order chicks.

So I just looked at their order form online, considering they offer Russian Orloff, my guess is Ideal. That's a way-out-on-a-limb guess. I'm just not sure of any other big hatcheries that offer the Orloffs.

I'm not talking about the in-store orders that they get to fill the bins, but the special orders. They have those order forms in the stores where you can order "rare" breeds of poultry, turkeys, geese, guineas, and ducks. I'm wondering where those birds come from. Up in this area the birds they get in-store come from Mt.Healthy, but they don't carry half the breeds they advertise on the order forms they have in the store.
