What have I done??? (graphic pictures)

How many eggs did you set? Usually my previous hatches, about 10-15% died on about day 17,18. some died earlier. If you set only 1 egg, then you've got bad luck. Try again. You learned something didn't you?
I had set four eggs, picked them up from my hen (who had been with a roo) and two were developing, but then one got a blood ring and so I had to toss it. The other two never developed. And then this one..I will definitely be doing this more professional like the next time.

I hatched Seramas on my first hatch. They are harder to hatch than other breeds. Breeds like Brahmas, Orpingtons, Sex-Links, and Leghorns make good first-eggs.
Orpingtons? How bout Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons? A friend of mine has a flock, and I was thinking about asking him if I could have a few hatching eggs from his orpingtons.

You always have to remember that there is a reason a hen sets a large clutch of eggs. Nature does not expect all of them to survive, so nature starts with an overabundance. When we humans start with only a few, we don't allow for the natural errors.
