Well I think they didn't make it. She probably got off during that really hard freeze and let them chill too much or something. I know they are fertile cause I have some in the incubator and they are doing well right now.

She has thrown two out that are obviously rotten. I broke one open and there wasn't a chick inside. just some lumpy custard so it looks like they started development and at some point quit. I think more under her are rotten but I haven't taken them from her yet.

I was hoping for this broody hatch to work but I have some in the incubator so I'll still have fuzzy butts in two weeks.

if you can keep her on the nest, maybe with fake eggs or golf balls, she should adopt the incubator chicks as her own!
