I went to a Chicken swap last weekend and I thought these were Bantam Cochin Frizzles and Smooths. But now I'm thinking I might be wrong. They were all supposed to be hens but these two kinda looks like a roo.

He was in the same pen as this little chick who is supposed to be a bantam Cochin smooth.

Now here is the weird part...5 toes???The top guy(?) has a little half extra toe also.

So do these look like pure breeds to you all? I'm kinda new to this but I didn't think Cochins were black skinned or had five toes? So I was thinking a mix maybe some silkie blood in them?? Do you think they look like hens or roosters? I got some other weird looking birds from the same lady but she told me she had no idea what they were because a couple hens wondered off and came back later with chicks.
Here are two of those..
this one has five toes and a little tuffed of "hair" on the top of his head??

She also has five toes and the tuffed of Hair.

They're definitely a second cross to silkies rather than simple frizzles - the first is a fairly classic Sizzle and the second though SC is also, it's a smooth sizzle. The last two are also probably silkie mixes that are smooth feathered.

If the smooths have top knots with "streamers" they're boys.

The first two still could be pullets - they develop really slowly and too many surprises happen to be sure at that age. I have a Sizzle pullet who looked a LOT like the first at that age.

Welcome to the chaotic but nifty world of sizzles.

I was hoping the first to were Cochin frizzles so I could breed them. If they are silkie crosses and sizzles. What would happen if I breed one with a Cochin smooth. Would that undo the Sizzle (double gene)( I think) and then would it be a frizzles? Are sizzles okay health wise? I thought I read somewhere you didn't want to breed 2 frizzles and make a sizzle but I don't know why.

Sizzles from my understanding are actually a frizzle bred to a silkie. If you breed two frizzles together they will get two of the genes that make them have the funny feathers which will make them frazzles and their feathers are brittle and break off easily.

I was just reading about that this morning. Frizzle, Sizzle, and Frazzle.
I have so much to learn.

It doesn't help when the people I'm buying them from are either A- uninformed themselves or B- dishonest sellers. I'm hoping they are like me and just clueless.
