I enjoyed Beowulf somehow I’ve learned to ancient epics after studying Epic of Gilgamesh in Highschool. Hoping to start the Iliad soon.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Didn’t like this one much

Started this week:

House of Hades by Rick Riordan

War and Peace.....

Got to check out some thrift stores in the next town over and picked up some new(to me) books.

$9 for all. I’ve already read The Scorch Trials, The Lightning Thief and 1984 but the rest are going on the TBR shelf.
Ps. I have no idea why this is in italics 🙃

I went to Barnes and Noble. 🙈 I got Send For Me by Lauren Fox and Where’d You Go, Bernadette (already read it but need my own copy!) for myself, and Kafka’s Metamorphosis and Gary Shteyngart’s Our Country Friends for some other people for Christmas.

Since Saturday will be Christmas I’m doing my weekly update today.

Finished:

Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are fleshed our well and you really feel immersed in their world and struggles.

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
This one is a bit of a blur since I had to read it so quickly because it was a library book.

Alice in Wonderland
I had read the abridged version as a kid but I really enjoyed the poetry of the unabridged version. I found Alice kind of annoying though.

Started:

The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Willhiams

Finished
All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot

Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton

The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

The Bible ESV

Started

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

My Antonia by Willa Carter

Enders Game by Person Scott Card

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

It’s been one of those weeks where I start a book lose interest start a book, lose interest. So that’s why there’s so many started this week lol. I think I’m only 10-20 pages into each of them.

Don’t have time tonight but I’ll post a wrap up of the year in the tomorrow weather permitting. We’ve had Tornadoes in our State Wednesday, Today and there is a threat for more tomorrow.
